Ate here for dining under the stars and our server Layla was great and our sushi even better! I'm from out of town but I'll definitely be back.

I judge all sushi joints on their sweet potato tempura rolls... Temaki is the reason for this and has been the golden standard for a decade or so, for me. BYOB, solid service, and dining under the stars - for which you CAN make a reservation here (not all DUTS-participating places do) gives an amazing ambiance with the live musicians and community coming together. Take out is just as amazing as dine-in! Thanks, Temaki, for being awesome and being part of the Media community!

Sushi was fresh and miso soup was good. Tuna takaki was a top notch appetizer. Sushi had was classic crispy spider roll, spicy crab roll, spicy scallop roll. I ate with a friend who had some trouble w textures. This is normal with many of the people I have run into. So I had decided to avoid anything not salmon or a more common seafood. He had some ramen and added chicken. The ramen was off for him. I couldn't smell this bad smell but it was bad for him. This place isn't known for ramen and since I can make my own and since a relative of mine got mad at me when I ordered instant, I have a tendency to look for handmade only or to just go eat something else or elsewhere. He was also very hungry. Temaki was so nice to not charge us for the ramen dish. I don't really know if there was anything wrong with it. I had considered the boat but you really need a relatively open food mind for the boat even though it is typical of quality sushi restaurants. They also offered an all sushi and and all sashimi package. I wanted more of a mix like a love boat package but smaller quantity. We ended up going a la carte.
